How it works
Three steps, about five minutes
01
Answer questions
Tell us about your parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents — where they were born and when.
02
Get your matches
We check your background against each country's citizenship-by-descent laws and flag which ones may apply.
03
See next steps
For each country you match, we explain the pathway, required documents, and likely difficulty.
Every pathway we cover
Ways to qualify
Citizenship doesn't always come through ancestry. Second Pass evaluates nine pathway types — from the obvious (descent, marriage) to the niche (religious return, exceptional talent). Your answers map to whichever ones actually fit your situation.
Ancestry
Inherit citizenship through a parent, grandparent, or (in some countries) an earlier ancestor.
Naturalization
Qualify by living in the country for the required number of years.
Marriage
Reduced residency or direct citizenship through marriage to a national.
Citizenship by Investment
Direct passport in exchange for a qualifying investment or donation.
Golden Visa
Residency — and eventually citizenship — through a property, fund, or business investment.
Exceptional talent
Discretionary citizenship or residency for scientists, athletes, founders, or investors of exceptional standing.
Diaspora / religious return
Pathways for descendants of a diaspora community or religious group (e.g., Law of Return, Hungarian Simplified Naturalization).
Skilled migration
Employment-based permits and points systems that lead to permanent residency and eventual citizenship.
Historical displacement
Citizenship for descendants of those who fled persecution (e.g., Austria §58c, Germany Art. 116(2)).
After the quiz
A custom analysis, then an individualized path to your passport
When the quiz finds a match, our concierge walks you through the rest — the forms, the consulate, the timeline. We connect you with local resources wherever you are, so the paperwork and government interactions aren't something you navigate alone.
Beyond the quiz
From eligibility to passport in hand
The eligibility quiz is the first step. Here's how we carry your case the rest of the way.
